Tenerife, in the Atlantic Ocean, is one of the most visited destinations in the Canary Islands archipelago.
This group of islands share a volcanic origin and mild temperatures all year round. The size of Tenerife, its historic importance and the variety of its landscapes made this island even more special than the others. As the rest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has traditionally been a beach holiday destination.
However, it offers a lot more to enjoy: In a few hours one can go from a sandy beach to the highest Spanish peak or visit a World Heritage Site. Nature visits like the Parque Nacional del Teide, or the superb cliffs in Los Gigantes can successfully be combined with the historical sites of La Laguna, La Orotava and Arona.
Gardens are also a main attraction in Tenerife: The Orchid Garden and the Botanical Garden in Puerto de la Cruz, or Drago Parc in Icod de los Vinos. Last but not least, Astronomy lovers have in Tenerife a top destination for its special climate and geographical conditions.
